Te Reo Moari

Today I learned about Sir Apirana Ngata.

First I readed a text about Sir Apirana Ngata. I learned when he was born, where he was born, what he was, where his face is now. I learned that his face was on the 50 dollar note. He was the third person who was knighted.

Next I learned about when he was born the 3rd of July, he was raised in Te Araroa, and he died in 1950 July the 14. He died 11 days before his 76th birthday.

I enjoye because I learnt a lot about Sir Apirana Ngata. I need to improve on finding more information. I did well on researching about Sir Apirana Ngata’s death.

SSR Selfie

Today I did a slide of SSR Selfie.

First I went on a slide and added some recounts of the book I readed with a timer of 15 minutes and adding the illustrator and author.

Next I took a picture of myself smiling with the book next to me.

Lastly I typed 3 interesting words with the definition.

I enjoyed doing some reading, I did well being of reading books, I need to improve learning about reading.

Basic Facts Boxes

Today I did some basic facts boxes.

First I went on a chart basic fact boxes V2, and I did the whole chart which I got then all correct.

Next while I was doing the whole chart of basic fact boxes, i setup an stop watch timer to see how long it would take for me to finish a whole basic facts boxes chart.

Lastly I finished my whole basic facts boxes chart and it only took 5 minutes and 50 seconds to finish, so I took a screen of the stopwatch timer and the whole chart of basic facts boxes to put on my slides and tell how i felt of doing maths.

I enjoyed doing maths, I did well finishing a whole chart, I need to improve of learning maths more faster.

 

HPE

Today I learned basketball skills like passing the ball, long passing the ball and dribbling the ball.

First we practice dribbling. I needed to dribble by bending my knees and my waist. I used my fingers to keep control of the ball while bouncing the ball.

Next we practiced doing a short pass. I did a chest pass and pushed my arms out to pass the ball. I also needed to make the letter W with my fingers spreaded to catch the ball.

Lastly we practise doing a long pass. I used my body to pass the ball by stepping forward with my dominant leg.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt basketball skills. I did well on passing the ball. I need to improve on dribbling.

Maths Week

Today LS1 learned in maths in today’s math week, (math week means doing just math).

First we hopped on math week google slides that was created by Ms.White.

Next there was link that sent us math games called Maths week.

Lastly we finished the challenges in Maths week.

I enjoyed learning about maths, I did well of playing maths week, I need to improve of my math but making it more simple.

Summarising

Today group 5 learned about summarising (summarising means explaning a sentence with fewer words).

First we readed a book called rahi and the patupaiarehe, a little bit of information of the book: there was a person called tawhiirimatea, he was the god of wind, he sent a breeze that lifted Rahi hight into the air.

Next Mr.Wong sent us google slides of summarising, for it we had to write down 20 important words in the book, choose 6 most important words, and use the 6 most important words to sum up the text in a few sentences.

Lastly we finished our summarising google slides.

I enjoyed learning about summarising, I did well on my reading, I need to improve on my summarising but faster.

Mufti

Today LS1 learned about should mufti be uniform to PBS/Panmure Bridge School, (Mufti means not wearing uniform).

First we had a google doc that Ms.White made for us to put reasons in the doc, well at lease 3 reasons, about “should mufti be uniform to PBS?”

Next we had to make a DLO of should mufti not be uniform to PBS or should it be uniform to PBS?

Lastly we finished our DLO about the information and reasons in my DLO.

I enjoyed learning about mufti, I did well about did my work, I need to improve of making my work more simple.

Compare & Contrast

Today LS1 learned about what compare and contrast mean (contrast means finding differences) (compare means similarites).

First we readed two cultural stories for our venn diagram ( a venn diagram is two circles overlapping), one of the stories is from China and one as a made up story.

Next we made a copy of our venn diagram, the venn diagram is for putting differences of the two cultural stories, and the middle is for the similarites of the stories.

Lastly we finished our venn diagram and finishing reading our two cultural stories.

I enjoyed learning, I did well on finding similarites and differences of the two stories, I need to improve on my reading.

 

Proper Nouns, Commons nouns and Adjectives

Today LS1 learned about nouns, adjectives, and common nouns.

First we made a DLO for what is are nouns, adjectives, and common nouns. (Nouns are places, things, names of people, names of planets, and names of countries. Adjectives describes nouns, and common nouns are simple nouns like floors ,roofs ,walls, and stairs.

Next we talked about the information of nouns, adjectives and common nouns.

Lastly we finished our DLO’s by double checking our work before we show our work to our teachers.

I enjoyed learning about nouns, I did well of learning with the instructions, I need to improve on my adjective and common noun learning.

 

Split Strategy

Today LS1 learned about Split Strategy.

First we made a DLO of Split Straegy, even tho we were asked what is split strategy, which Max gave a amazing example, but it was a little bit confusing for the teachers.

Next I made DLO but mine was on google slides.

Lastly I was talking about what is a split strategy (Split strategy is a mental calculation method where numbers are splitted into their place value, making it easier to add them. Numbers are split into tens ones, as an example, 46 becomes four tens (40) and six ones (6). And, 33 is three tens (30) and three ones (3).

I enjoyed making the DLO of Split Strategy, I did well on my google slides, I need to improve of my work but more simple.
