Autumn Learning Journey – Activity 5# (Activity 8#)

LI: to use Song Maker to create music.

For SLJ Activity No. 5#, the activity was to use a website called “Song Maker” to create music. I started to explore and gather information about how to use the tools and how it works on the website. Then when I was all set, I began my journey awaiting at a wondrous rate as I was thrilled and day dreaming to create my song. Above here is a picture of how it looks on the website, here is a link to my Music.

I found this activity very interesting and very fun because my honest speech about this activity is that I have experience of using this website so I knew for a fact that it would be way too easy for me.

Autumn Learning Journey – Activity 4# (Activity 7#)

LI: to define a mysterious token about the season, Autumn.

For SLJ Activity No. 4#, the activity was to define a mysterious token that was written about the season, Autumn. I first used smart searching skills to define about what the token means, the token was written: “being the time of harvest there was a abundance of kai”, and the results I was given was the “wealth of food, time & wealth of people”. I also decided to use my smart researching skills to research about the token that was I given to define. Here is a link to lead you to my researching: Autumn Link.

I found this activity very interesting because of defining a token about the season, Autumn, especially a token that was created from Te Reo Maori.

Autumn Learning Journey – Activity 3# (Activity 5#)

LI: to explore about the ANZAC’s journey in the 90’s.

For the SLJ activity No. 3#, The activity was to explore and use Google Earth to gather information about the ANZAC’s Journey. I first used my smart researching skills to gather information and learn about the ANZAC’s Journey. Then I created a project on Google Earth to find the location of where the occasion happened. I have learnt that a war happened during the ANZAC’s Journey, way back in the 90’s, (Australia vs Turkey). Above here is a picture of my project on Google Earth.

I found this activity very interesting because I learnt a new word & that I learnt about a war that I didn’t even know about that was back in the 90’s.

Autumn Learning Journey – Activity 2# (Activity 3#)

LI: to design a Easter Egg Basket for Easter.

For the SLJ Activity No. 2#, The activity was to design a Easter Egg Basket by using Google Drawings. I was able to get some creative ideas by searching for creative designing ideas first, then I started to create my basket with a Google drawing. The purpose was to create a Easter Egg Basket for Easter. Above here is a picture of my design. Here is a link to my design: Happy Easter

I found this activity pretty easy and interesting because I would have never thought of creating a Easter Egg Basket formed as a bunny.

Autumn Learning Journey – Activity 1#

LI: to explore the 5 trails of the ANZAC at Ngatapuwae (in NZ).

For the SLJ activity No. 1#, I learnt about the 5 trails of ANZAC in Ngatapuwae, (Ngatapuwae is located in Papatoetoe). I first used a website named after Ngatapuwae, I then decided to explore the 5 trails to gather some information from each trail. Did you know that: No. 1#  is where the ANZAC soldiers landed at Ngatapuwae in 1915, at No. 2# they started to explore the cove of the beach, at No. #3 I learnt that Turkish Fire is one of ANZAC men’s nightmare, at No. 4# they moved from the cove to the high ground to place a checkpoint for them, then at No. 5# I learnt that the ANZAC soldiers officially made No. 4# as their campsite and that No. 5# was capable for the men that were stationed at the outposts, could only move around at night at No. 5#. Above here is 2 pictures, 1 of them is a picture of the 5 trails and the 2nd one is a picture of where Ngatapuwae is located in NZ.

I found this activity historically interesting because of how the ANZAC Soldiers feared Turkish Fire in 1915, which I didn’t know.

SLJ Manaiakalani Activity 2.0

LI: in order to do one of the SLJ activites, register and sign in.

Today I decided to do another SLJ activity, this time i created a origami fish, to be exact the measurement of the paper had to be 10 – 15 cm but i just used a normal coloured paper. I started off by going on the SLJ web named “slj.manaiakalani.org“. I found the link to the activity called origami fish, i decided to start off with the tutorial for the hard origami fish, i copied off the video and came up with my results, the picture’s above.

I found this activity fun and interesting because it was difficult to follow the tutorial but i do love a great challenge.

SLJ Manaiakalani Activity

LI: in order to do one of the SLJ activites, register and sign in.

Today our class decided to do some SLJ/Summer Learning Journey activites, and not just any SLJ activity, we did a interesting activity that we had to make a poster of warning people to be safe around revolting sea creatures, for example: we all made our own poster about our safety around the water. We first attempted to register in the web named “slj.manaiakalani.org” with our own accounts. Then we picked to do the stonefish poster activity which is in the “Weekly Activites” section and then we got some hints and a great start off, thanks to Mrs.Tele’a’s mother, and her video. and then thats when we started to make a copy of the template to make our posters, for example: look at the picture of my poster above.

I found this activity interesting because of learning something new about sea creatures.
